My name is Chana and I’m turning three,
This year’s birthday is as special as can be.
There’s a Jewish custom that girls my age light,
Their very own Shabbat candle every Friday night.
I know my candle adds to the world a little bit more light,
& I hope my mitzvot will also make it bright!
It’s in honor of my new light that we make this community celebration
Because every mitzvah strengthens the Jewish nation.
